Long-Range Fundamentals

This course teaches the fundamentals of long-range marksmanship. ($450)

This course is designed for anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of long-range shooting. Whether you are an avid hunter looking to take that long-range shot or a beginning shooter that wants to learn proper form, this course will benefit you. The course will be 2 days (8 hours each day) with one day in the classroom and another day on the 300 yard range here at McMiller.

Long-Range Advanced

A course for graduates of the fundamental course with targets past 1000 yards. ($650)

Located in the beautiful hills of Fennimore, WI you will be engaging steel targets from 300 - 1100 yards. Learn to make proper adjustments in equipment and form to consistently hold groups at these ranges. This course is the second of two courses we offer and is to be taken after successful completion of of the fundamentals course (unless special consideration is given).

Long-Range Shooting Classes

Required Equipment

  • A rifle chambered in a capable cartridge from a fast twist .223 up to .300 Win Mag or similar. Rifle must be capable of minute of angle accuracy

  • Match quality ammunition, 150 rounds minimum (we can supply this for you at an additional cost with advanced notice)

  • Quality rifle scope with adjustable turrets in MIL or MOA

  • Bi-pod

  • Rear shooting support. Examples: rear bag, V-block, etc.

  • Cleaning kit

  • Pen/pencil (will be provided)

  • Notebook (will be provided)

  • Ballistic calculator (I.E. applied ballistics, strelok, bulletdrop)

  • Eye and ear protection

  • Pants and long sleeve shirt

  • Comfortable, sturdy footwear (NO sandals, crocs, or anything similar)

  • Snacks and beverages for throughout the day, lunch will be provided

  • Shooting mat (will be provided, but you are allowed to bring your own)
